The assessment board was composed of the CISP Scientific Committee, and was assisted by a number of external experts. In evaluating the entries, the Scientific Committee favored the articles that presented the most original research in terms of content, hypotheses and empirical or historical analysis, while showing methodological rigor and a solid academic grounding. In adherence to this policy, the winners of the CISP award are as follows: 1. Stefano Quirico, La pace permanente attraverso la forma repubblicana The award ceremony took place on Friday, November 21st 2014, at the CISP Conference entitled 'The New Justifications for Torture in the Age of Human Rights'. The assessing board was composed by the Scientific Committee of CISP, with the assistance of external experts. The articles showed a very advanced level of scientific and cultural elaboration, and covered a wide range of topics and methods. In its evaluation, the Scientific Committee has privileged those works that presented the most original and innovative solutions in terms of contents, hypotheses and empirical (or historical) analysis, while showing methodological rigor and solid academic background.
